
In the original timeline, Mike and Maria skipped the concert, so Mike never interacted with Sally there, and four nights later she was murdered. But after changing his actions with Maria, Mike attended the concert and spent time with Sally and Jeff. This caused Jeff to come by McKlinsky’s Auto the next day and take Mike to the mall, with the intention of eventually confronting him about his obvious interest in Sally. That’s why Mike has no memory of that specific mall trip—or of first seeing Jeff’s potential girlfriend, Kimberly, there.
In the movie Back to the Future, Marty has dinner with Lorraine’s family while they watch The Honeymooners episode “The Man from Space,” in which Ralph dresses up as a spaceman. However, that episode did not actually air on November 5, 1955—the date Marty arrived in the past.
In Thunder Bay, Mike’s parents are watching Somewhere in Time when Mike arrives home on the evening of June 20, 1984. Unlike the Back to the Future example, Somewhere in Time really was broadcast on CBS from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. that night.

For those who don't know, Windows on the World was an iconic restaurant located in the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. Mike, his parents, and Sally are able to eat lunch there in 2024 because Mike somehow prevented the 9/11 terrorist attacks from ever happening.
Mike somehow prevents the space shuttle Challenger from exploding in 1986, leaving astronaut Judy Resnik along with the others on that flight to continue living their lives. It's also implied that he prevents the shuttle Columbia accident as well.
